this is the worst product samsung has designed. didn't even last two years and cost to repair it was more than purchasing a new one from a different manufacturer. i believe it worked well for the first 3 months but then quickly deteriorated after that.

does anyone else who bought this feel like its a very bad product. for the premium price i paid, feel like i am stuck with this now...
1. i hate that other competitors though are less expensive use features like mapping which are very useful
2. just bumps into every obstacle as soon as there is a slightly less light e.g. everytime it goes under my dining table, starts bumping into the legs of the dining chairs / table..
3. worst of all - everytime it steps onto (even a very low) carpet like a runner from maybe a wood floor, it leaves dirt that it just picks off the wood floor...got to then run after it to do a spot clean. very annoying..!
never again buying a robo vaccum from samsung or nor would i recommend it to anyone.

I bought this model 2 weeks ago and I am so pleased with the results and value! I run it every day and I am amazed at how much it picks up when my floors already look clean. I tried it in my bedroom today on the 2nd floor and it went under my bed and got all the dust bunnies that are impossible to reach! Highly reccommend this model - should have bought one sooner!

We purchased this vacuum because you can turn it on when you leave and it is supposed to clean the house and return to its charger station by itself, but several times we found it dead in the middle of its work. Not because of the battery, in fact, we found it fully charged. ¨Lucky me¨, because this started happening so soon after the warranty expired. Expensive and defective.

I have had this thing for almost a year, I has been back for repairs several time. It will not charge. Works good for a couple of weeks after getting it back but then stops charging again. I will never buy another samsung product again.

Bought an R7090 less than a month ago after my older Roomba units finally died. Had purchased an R7065 back in November 2018. Within a week of each other, both units failed - refuse to move forward, no error code on the device. Have tried cleaning cliff sensors, brushes, and wheels to no avail. R7065 failed first, and service has been poor so far; R7090 failure tonight led me to write this review.

We bought this vacuum about a year ago and we were very satisfied overall.
We don't have pets not small kids.
We love all the features and how great the paterns show in the carpets, also it does a decent job reaching out the edges.
About 11 months since we got it we noticed that the vacuum was recharging more often than before. Now the vacuum charge does not last more than 15 minutes of charge.

I purchased this robot with the high expectations that it lived up to the Samsung
quality brand, only to discover after less than once week in operation both the battery and an internal IC circuit board failed. So I sent the robot vacuum back into Samsung and it took approx 2 week for testing and repair. Once I received it is failed to live up to another brand I have been using on another floor of my home (NEATO) and when I tried to return the Samsung they promptly informed me that I was past the 15 day return window. They would not account for the 2 weeks that the robot was out for repair and shipment time. I am VERY disappointed in both the product and service by Samsung. Perhaps they should stick to televisions and mobile phones!

Bought this 800$ vacuum apparently a year and two months ago. Warranty is now out. Vacuum does great first ten minutes then suction quits vacuum keeps going like it's doing something and also loses its sense of edges. Will sit there and smoke tires into the wall. Online chat pretty much told me there's nothing they can do. Looks like I'm plugging in my 7 year old roomba that cost 1/4 of what this one did to get the job done.

Just bought this 2 days ago and ran it twice so far. I live in a one bedroom apartment with no pets but a young child. Overall this works pretty good. Not perfect but very acceptable. If you live in a space that is square this would work perfect for you. You must note that where you put the recharging station matters A LOT because it is the baseline and the RobotVac will only clean the spaces in front of it. For example, you have a living room and a bedroom and/or bathroom is situated behind the living room, Robot will clean the living room ONLY and will not know to go behind the wall of the living room and clean bathroom and a bed room. Now that was the drawback I saw. But the spaces it cleans were pretty good. It doesn't clean the most efficient way. For example, it would start vacuum then would take a trip to a different section of the space. At first, I thought it missed the whole section where it started cleaning. But then, eventually, it somehow remembered the missing spot and came back. But then it would also go back to a far away space that it missed. Not sure why it wouldn't make sure to finish the space it works on then move on to a far away place. As far as the sensors go, they are great. I have a dining table in the living room. There are 4 dining chairs. The machine slows down when detecting a chair leg or table leg. I have a area rug in the living room. The machine goes up the rug fine and put itself into a high gear (Turbo Mode) and cleans it all. Impressed. You have to empty the dust bin EVERY TIME it's finished running. Meaning you have to be diligent and not let the machine do all the work. Also, before the machine starts cleaning, you MUST clean the entire cleaning area. ie) pick up every single toys and put away all the shoes. Again, you must be diligent. Otherwise, don't bother buying this robot. You will be throwing away money.

We received this vacuum last week and have tried running it in different rooms. The results are dismal at best.
It does not perform anything as described.
It randomly cris crosses the room rather than mapping straight lines.
It repeats going over the same track over and over again until it runs out of power.
The dirt cup is so small that it must be dumped many times in one room.
There is no sensor to detect when the cup is full so it must be watched to see if it is even sucking anything.
When using the Point and Vac feature it goes where we point but it does not get the area clean even after going over multiple times.
Samsung service is very difficult to reach for resolution or service.
This experience has greatly soured my faith in Samsung goods.
Sending it back for refund.

I already had another vac from a different manufacturer. I liked the added features on this vacuum and have been using it for almost a year now. I enjoy the fact that it can operate on it's own during the middle of the night, or if we are gone for the day, I can start it remotely to clean up my whole floor. I have it set to vacuum twice, so it does my large living / dinning room area plus my hallways. I am very happy with the performance of this vacuum, and it keeps my wife happy too.

I've had this unit for a little over a year, and in that time I have had to send it in for repair 3 times. The vacuum motor stopped working, the cliff sensor and bumper sensor broke, and now the battery won't hold a charge.
On top of that, I frequently have to turn it off and back on in order to get it to recover from some sort of internal error.
Unfortunately, it's out of warranty now, so I'm going to have to pay for repairs. I expect that fixing the battery issue will end up costing more than buying a new one.
When it works, this thing is great, but it ends up not working far more than it works.

I bought the POWERbot R7090 about a year ago. It was easy to set up and it's done a great job of navigating my condo to keep it neat and clean. It is better than other, similar products in navigating obstacles while still accomplishing its mission.

We have had this a few months now and it does a great job of getting the pet hair and dust up. It does have some difficulty transitioning from the hard floor to the rug we have, and 9 times out of 10 it can't get itself completely back on the charging station completely. We have to push it on the last inch so it will begin recharging.

We bought this for our new home, which we were moving to in February of this year. We have mostly hardwood floor, so it was going to be a big help with the cleaning everyday. After about 3 months, Sparky (our name for it) had a problem with one of the drive wheels. we sent it to Samsung, it was fixed and sent back, and it has had NO issues since.

I've had this now for three months. It's definitely the best of the three robot vacuum cleaners I've owned. It doesn't get stuck. It gets the whole floor. It adjusts based on the type of floor surface. It has great suction. It sends a map of its path after its done to my phone. I can control it with my phone. It's just amazing. No regrets.

The Samsung POWERbot R7070 Pet Robot Vacuum cleaning ability is impressive on both carpet and bare floor. It picked up most of the debris on the first pass; Any remaining debris was then picked up on the second pass of the vacuum. It did not leave any marks on the furniture legs or cabinet bases The low height allows it to easily glide under furniture and beds. The shape of the vacuum with the straight front end allows it to easily clean in corners, something round machines cannot do. Another unique feature is the lack of side brushes that either wear quickly or disperse debris into the carpet. The suction from this vacuum is powerful and is able to completely remove tracked in dirt and grit from the carpet. I especially like the easy to remove rubber roller for cleaning and to remove any trapped hair that may be wound around the roller. The dust bin has a large capacity and is easy to empty. While the motor is very powerful it is also very quite and cannot be easily heard from just one room away. This is where the PowerBot WiFi connection to the Smart Things app on my cell phone is useful to see where the vacuum is or control it without walking upstairs to check. Programing is very simple I had my PowerBot up and running in just minutes. I especially like the ability to control it from the included remote control and or via my cell phone by use of the Smart Things app. On this app I can see a map of what areas were cleaned and check the status of the vacuum. I can also send it out for cleaning in the house remotely. The PowerBot is able to navigate and clean in the dark and avoids falling down the stairs. It comes with the charging station, remote control the robotic vacuum.

I requested this as my birthday gift back in March 2018. After much research on different brands and various models I decided this would be the best fit for my family and our needs. Boy was I right! Robot vacuums are the best! I love that I can control from the vacuum itself, the remote, or the app on my phone. It's also great that if it gets stuck in another room I will be notified on my phone to go fix it! This thing sucks up EVERYTHING! Even my sons cheerios or goldfish under the couch! My long hair and cat hair are no match for this thing. Suction is amazing, never gets tangled, love Love LOVE this vacuum!!!!!!!

So I bought this vacuum based on the good reviews but I think I got a defective unit. It would just go in a tiny circle and then give the "stuck" error. I sent it back and they said it had been repaired. However, it still does the same thing. I am very disappointed in this product and am thinking of ordering from iRobot. This thing is terrible.

I tried to love this thing, I love samsung in general (6 TVs, 3 smart locks, 2 vacuums, microwave, washer, dryer, dishwasher, oven, phones, etc) but its awful. I own and am returning both the R7090 and R7065 today. I purchased them to make my girlfriends life easy, and she straight up told me they're making her miserable and I was feeling the same way
1) Frequently gets lost/cant dock. >80% of the time
2) Smash into things HARD. Like knock over lights and break bulbs hard. Ran straight into one of my sleeping dogs and he was yelping for a good minute
3) Gets stuck on every possible ledge, every single transition, and just grinds its wheels
4) Gets stuck under anything it can fit under
5) Damages property all the time by getting stuck them backing up into things, its torn up our table and chair legs just grinding against them for 10 minutes
6) Disconnects from smartthings/wifi all the time. Constantly have to re-pair these things
7) The brush on the R7090 is far worse than the brush on the R7065. Its now falling apart after maybe 10 uses, literally losing pieces
8) The way the clips are to hold the brush in, they constantly unclip
9) The way the brush clips into the vacuum is causing it to wear and round. In a few weeks this vacuum would likely no longer be able to turn the brush as it would be rounded off too far
10) The contacts on the bottom of the robot for charging get filthy, you have to manually go and clean them because they're dragging on the ground all day. No idea why these are not recessed even 2-4mm to protect them
11) The 'cyclone' bin clogs all the time. This is worse on the R7090 than on the R7065 due to the 'self cleaning' brush that chops up hairs just long enough to clog the vacuum. You have to clean/empty this constantly
12) The mapping features - they're really non-existent. It doesn't remember anything, you cant set any barriers, it has no clue where it is, and the maps its drawing must be of somebody elses house because I dont have 5 bedrooms upstairs or 2 rooms downstairs. Sometimes it maps my house like its 5x bigger than it really is because its constantly lost. It clearly cant reference any previous trips
13) They damage themselves damaging everything else. The outside of both of these have so many deep scratches you would think they were chained to a bumper and we dragged them down the street.
14) They never use the 'edge' mode to clean my hallways. Maybe at 1 or 2 spots, but the other 2000 where it should happen it just ignores and drives around
15) The R7090 today starting having a wheel fail or something (dragging a wheel occasionally), and the motor will suddenly and unexplained bog down and sound awful. I have no doubt it's on it's "Last leg"

I purchased this vacuum cleaner based on its name "PetRobot". I have to long-hair cats and I was hoping the vacuum cleaner will help keep my flow and carpet clean. So fay I am very disappointed. Pet's hair clogs the path to the dirt collection container within a few minutes of operation. This, in addition to the very instrusive app (asks for permissions for contacts, photos, etc!) results in a very poor product. SAMSUNG, I am very disappointed.

I set this machine up to clean a three-room suite on a daily basis, and I am amazed at the amount of dirt and dust that it picks up. It does a very thorough job cleaning, especially under the bed! I did have to learn not to leave things on the floor in order not to create obstacles, and I will note that the robot will choke on some things (dryer sheets), but once my training was complete, the robot has settled down to a very efficient routine. By the way, it's easy to clear snags and set the robot free to clean. The machine has gotten lost once or twice trying to return to the charging base, but that's probably because of my placement of the base. All in all, I'd say that this is a great value for a working household, and it doesn't seem to bother the pets at all.

I have this product for over two weeks and it continues to impress me. I have 2400 sqft house with 3 dogs and a cat. It keeps my floors and carpets clean everyday. Even with heavily shedding cat and dog. I just have to make sure that I empty out the dirt reservoir. We even named it Sam as a pet. Minimized general floor and carpet cleaning to every other week.

Where the vacuum cleans it does a wonderful job. I have a large house so have 4 other Samsung powerbots: 2 - 9350s and 2 - 9250s that do an amazing job, but don't get under the furniture.
Hence, I bought this one. My problem is, he's a wauderer. I put him in my kitchen, which is perfectly square and he starts to do a great pattern to clean, then the next thing I know, he's in another room, leaving the kitchen floor 1/2 Done! He doesn't return to finish the job, but does return to dock in the kitchen. Really frustrating. As I run him with the other two, I have to grab one of the other Sammys to finish what he starts.
Also, the wonderful self cleaning blade isn't self cleaning and it's actually difficult to clean when after every use, hair gets stuck in the valleys and it's hard to get out. I have 3 cats, so I run the Sammys every other day, and must clean the blade on this one every time I use it. The others I clean weekly.

The POWERbot™ R7090 Robot is awful. On start up, It climbs up the side of the dock, every time, and gets stuck there and shuts itself off, every time it starts up. I move it and start it up again and when it comes to a wall, it tries to climb that and, again, it gets stuck there and, again, it shuts itself off. I finally get it to run and after 15 minutes, its fully charged battery is dead! It's a totally worthless, expensive piece of junk. I returned it two days after I got it. Just awful.

I found that the duration of the battery charge is much inferior to the I robot I had before. This battery is only good on one charge for 30 mins or less and the I robot was good for over an hour. I found the suction was superior and other aspects of operation seemed better. A longer life battery would be better.
